Nave, looking East

Organ dedication Chancel looking east Memorial Chapel looking east

Looking east from the middle of the nave we see the whole span of the east end, as a worshipper would see them: the organ case, lectern with a red Bible on it, choir pews, High Altar below the East Window, organ console, pulpit, and Memorial Chapel. The lectern is inscribed:

In memory of
Arthur William & Louisa Kate Clark

The layout cleverly focuses the eye on the high altar, where bread and wine are consecrated by the priest to feed the spiritual life of the faithful. The archway through which we are looking is flanked by the lectern and pulpit, showing that scripture and preaching should lead the people to communion with God.
