As we turn towards the right another window comes into view. It is a tribute to all those who served in the Civil Defence Services in the Second World War (1939–1945), with the text “To the glory of God and in gratitude for the men and women of this church & parish who served in the Civil Defence Forces in the World War 1939 – 1945”. The lower right-hand corner shows the arms of the pre-1965 Borough of Sutton and Cheam with its motto “Serve God and be cheerful”. The pictograms remind us of the ARP, AFS, police, and WVS.
