As we turn further to the right another window comes into view. It shows the Virgin Mary on the right, who was told by the angel Gabriel that she would have a son who would be the Son of God, and she should name him Jesus. A ribbon floating near Mary shows the text “Hail, thou that art highly favoured” quoting Luke 1:28. Above it a dove is seen, representing the Holy Spirit of God. At the highest point is the hand of God with the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, Α and Ω, meaning that God is the beginning and end of all things, as in "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8). Small panels tell us that the window was given in memory of Fanny Mary Smith 1849 – 1933.
